Vivid Motion needs some help. We have some exciting plans for the coming year and need folks who have some good ideas and are able and willing to do some work to see those ideas realized.
Fundraising campaign to pay our company class teachers
We offer free company classes on Wednesday evenings and all the teachers are volunteers. After 9 years we think it's time for us to show our appreciation to the teachers by offering them some pay. However, we'd like to continue to offer class for free. So that's where the fundraising comes in. This committee will set goals, plan events and make them happen. It's our first foray into organized fundraising, and we would love to have all sorts of people helping out.

Exploratory Committee to find us our own space
Vivid Motion has been very lucky to be able to use other peoples spaces for free or at very reasonable rates. As we grow, we find that we increasingly need more time in a studio. We also recognize that there is not a dedicated dance space that is accessible for smaller dancer groups or individuals. In an effort to increase our ability to get studio time, and to increase awareness and accessibility for other groups in the dance community we have decided we want our own space. This is a HUGE step, we realize and so we are first going to try to find out what is involved in actually getting/having/running a space. This is the committee that will do the research into lease agreements, insurance requirements, budgets and all the nitty gritty of what might be involved in running our own space. We will figure out. realistically, what Vivid Motion would have to raise for capital to get a space of our own. This is a very important first step.

10th anniversary events
The 2013 Nutcracker Burlesque will be the 10th Holiday Burlesque show that Vivid Motion has produced, and the shows following will all be part of our 10th season. It's pretty cool that we've been around for a decade and we would like to plan some special events to celebrate. We want the tenth year to be really great, so we have to start planning now. This committee will think of celebrations and make them happen. We won't be choosing which shows we do, that's the Artistic Director's job. These events will be geared toward the Vivid Motion community as a whole; audiences, dancers, volunteers and other supporters.
