Vivid Motion Inc. is a non-profit dance company formed in Portland, Maine, October 2003.
Local dancers who wanted to perform and share their love of dance with the community started the company . Too often dance performance is seen as artsy or boring, with "deep meanings" and a "secret language". We at Vivid Motion believe that dance can be entertaining to watch as well as to do. Our performances are filled with dances meant to entertain. And if a little meaning seeps through that's ok too.

Making dance accessible and enjoyable for people who may have little or no prior interest in dance, by producing a variety of events including performances, festivals, multi-media presentations, workshops and other dance-related presentations.
We strive to allow dancers of all ages and abilities to express their creative potential by participating in and contributing to these events.
We are the producers of Nutcracker Burlesque , a sexy reinterpretation of the classic ballet using local dancers and musicians.
We are the producers of an Annual Spring Dance Show that gives local dancers and choreographers an opportunity to show their stuff.
We will be the producers of a Summer Ballet, a classic tale made modern, much like Nutcracker Burlesque , but more family oriented in nature.
We hope to make dance enjoyable for audiences to watch, and accessible for dancers to perform. We hope to take the secret language out of dance (or at least make fun of it a little) and have a good time doing it.
We need sponsorship in the form of places to rehearse, places to perform, places to store our stuff, help with advertising, graphic design and printing, material for costumes, dance shoes, volunteer help at events, help with fundraising and good old-fashioned money to help with all the costs of production.
